the residential interior design process
The interior design process is an intersection of creativity, psychology, functionality, and personal style to craft spaces that reflect those who inhabit them. The transformation from “before” to “after” can be an intimidating process for those looking to start a new project. Understanding the steps involved can help shed light on what to expect as you consider a new project.
project highlight: eagan family home
One of the things we pride ourselves on at Bound Collaborative is our ability to cater to each project’s specific needs while referencing the design process that sets the foundation of every project (listen, connect, ideate, edit—repeat).
The Eagan Family Home is a classic 1990s suburban neighborhood home that was full of the red oak that characterizes many homes of this era. The home had previously experienced an addition and kitchen renovation but the rest of the home dated back to its original build.
holiday decorating at the American Swedish Institute
This year we found ourselves jumping into the holiday spirit a little earlier than in years past. We connected with the American Swedish Institute in September as they looked for a local collaborator to decorate trees for their 73rd Holiday Experience. The Institute’s exhibit team had already developed the theme for 2023 - Once Upon a Mansion - highlighting Nordic and winter traditions, myths and tales. We were excited to come on board to pair the historic interiors of the Turnblad Mansion with the holiday experience theme and create a magical and cohesive experience.
why should i hire an interior designer?
Many of our clients are unfamiliar with what an interior designer does and how they may be able to serve you whether that be in your home or in a commercial space.
The International Interior Design Association defines interior design as “the professional and comprehensive practice of creating an interior environment that addresses, protects, and responds to human need(s).”
