detail bound: artwork, furniture, and accessory packages

Do you have a space with a lot of great pieces that you love, but it does not feel quite finished? What is it missing? Where do you find the pieces to bring it all together? How do you style it to feel interesting and practical? We thought it would be helpful to talk through part of our ‘detail bound’ service offering - the artwork, furniture, and accessory selection packages we offer to make your space feel complete and reflect your vision and style.

Process

We begin with an initial consultation that involves viewing your space virtually, or in person, to gather information on how the space functions, what is working well and what could change, and what pieces you would like to incorporate into the final design. Using any inspiration images you may already have, and images we gather after seeing your space and desired style, we put together a holistic aesthetic approach that helps guide artwork, furniture, and accessory selections. We also establish the overall budget so we are able to make recommendations that are inline with what you can actually purchase.

After defining the style and overall aesthetic, we source options from a variety of manufacturers, and compile them into two documents. The first is a product and material board that puts all of the options together visually to help you imagine how the space will look. The second is a Google Sheets document that includes pricing, notes, and links to the source, allowing you to purchase items immediately, or according to your timeline. If you want all of the selected pieces purchased immediately, we offer additional purchasing services where we place all of the orders and coordinate delivery.

Cost

Our detail bound artwork, furniture, and accessory packages typically range from about $500-750 per room depending on the amount of finishing and accessorizing needed. Your initial consultation is always free. It helps us determine if we are a good fit and allows us to craft a proposal and fee specific to your space needs.

Material Health & Sustainability

The pieces you put into your home should be purposeful and thoughtful. As we pull together options for each piece, we vet them using the outlined list below:

Breathe Better: This product impacts better indoor air quality. We spend up to 90% of our time indoors and everything inside contributes to the air we breathe. Greenguard is another third party standard that certifies for low chemical emissions and this product achieves Greenguard Gold so we can feel good about how this product contributes to the indoor air quality.

Certified Harmless: This is a textile certification, Oeko-tex 100, which means it has been tested, by a third party, for ingredients that are harmful to human health and contains nothing harmful.

Ethically Sourced: These items are thoughtfully sourced taking into consideration how the workers are treated and paid. Almost like Fair Trade, but not third party verified.

Energy Efficient: LED light bulbs use nearly 75% less energy than traditional incandescent light bulbs.

Fair Trade: This ensures that the people who made this product did so in a clean and safe work environment for fair wages.

FSC Certified: The FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) Certification ensures that the wood used to make the furniture was harvested in a way that is environmentally, socially and economically beneficial and the forest where it was grown is responsibly managed.

Natural Fibers: These include cotton, wool, and linen, to name a few. They have inherent properties that make them breathable and are guaranteed plastic free, which is especially great because our skin touches textiles the most!

Plastic Free: Plastics and the ingredients mixed within can disrupt important parts of the body like the lymphatic, hormonal and endocrine systems. They are also made of petrochemicals and are additionally harmful to the environment when not disposed of or specially recycled.

Shop Local: Supporting our local economy helps our neighbors and communities thrive.

Shop Small: Because we are a small business, we love supporting other small businesses whenever we can, since it can be more personally impactful.

Solid Wood: Contains no engineered wood, pressed wood or fiberboard which means no harmful chemical binders, adhesives or additives that could release VOCs into your indoor air.

Storied: These items have already lived a life (or two, or three). Call them vintage, second-hand, thrifted, re-used, the list goes on. These pieces have a character that new items do not which also makes them a little easier on the planet.

USA Made: Because the United States has more strict labor standards than many other manufacturing countries, this can mean better care & benefits for those creating the product.
