artists we’re eyeing

We’re in the process of curating artwork for a commercial project here in Minneapolis. Our search for artwork has brought us back to some of our go-to artists and led us to discover a handful of new artists.

Often, artwork is the final touch, the showcase piece that ties everything together and offers a story to tell over the years. While compiling this list, we noticed a theme across many of the artists - they intentionally create with color and texture. Maybe it’s our eagerness for spring and the color that brings, or the desire to bring more richness into the spaces we inhabit. Either way, we hope you enjoy these artists as much as we have lately.

Ceramic

Elisa Passino

These playful and graphic tiles will liven up any space. Not only do they serve a functional purpose as a wall or floor finish, their unique patterns and shapes create a stunning art installation.

Sandwich Ceramic

A local Minneapolis ceramic studio, Sandwich ceramic creates minimalist, functional pieces that can serve many purposes. We look to Sandwish ceramic for beautiful shelf and table top planters.

Recreation Center Shop

Josephine’s commitment to quality, colorful pieces drew us to her one-woman shop. She offers a wide variety of pieces that will add color and texture to your space, including lava lamps and the most fun dog bowls we have ever seen!

Paint

Cait Courneya

We love the versatility of Cait’s artwork. The abstract forms blend with a variety of styles and are available in many forms - print, painting, and textile.

Ashtyn Sibinski

Ashtyn’s layering of organic and geometric forms in her paintings and collages creates one-of-a-kind works. We’re especially drawn to the repetition of shapes and the patterns created in her Window Collection.

Textile

Mary Little

Using cotton canvas to explore texture, volume, and form, Mary Little creates engaging dimensional sculptures that capture and reflect light.

Jo Elbourne

The orderly, yet soft lines of Jo Elbourne’s artworks have us scrolling through her gallery for hours. We love the tactility of her work and the texture it offers

Moira Bateman

As outdoor lovers, we appreciate Moira’s process behind her artworks. She stains her primary medium, waxed silk, with waterway sediments and then pieces them together to form stunning creations.

Print

Carlos Amorales

Carlos creates through collaboration with composers, animators, designers, and other artists. His large prints, in a series or on their own, will make a statement in any space.

Studio on Fire

A local St. Paul print shop, Studio on Fire, is known for its clever and incredibly detailed designs. Whether you’re looking for fancy playing cards or a print for your wall, their work is worth a look.
