As more people are gearing up to head back to the office, looking to change some things in their existing workspace, or settling into their home office, we thought it timely to share some workspaces that are currently inspiring us. Though these spaces range in size, they all pack a punch when it comes to thoughtful details and beautiful design. 

 
  1. The Coven St. Paul

Designed by: Studio BV

What it is: A welcoming and creative coworking space for women, non-binary, and trans individuals.

What inspires us:

  • Design celebrates existing architecture

  • Many local artists were commissioned to create custom pieces and murals to create a gallery-like space

  • Variety of space types, such as a prayer and meditation room, self-care room, and library, support different working styles and needs throughout the work day

  • Thoughtfully selected furniture that is smaller in scale to accommodate the average size person

2. NYC Financial Office

What it is: Sophisticated financial office located in Midtown New York.

What inspires us:

  • Connection to original architectural elements

  • Variety of patterns and textures cohesively composed

  • Overall neutral design that feels warm, dynamic, and inviting

What it is: A compact office space for developer group, the NRP Group.

What inspires us: 

  • Efficient use of small space to serve many purposes

  • Simplicity of natural material palette

  • Celebration of natural light and large, unique windows

4. The Schoolhouse

What it is: Learning Center for strengthening Google’s execs in their leadership skills.

What inspires us: 

  • Spaces that engage all the senses - breakout rooms can be programmed for a light or scent story and some have plant walls that can be harvested and used for tea

  • Adaptable spaces and furniture elements that can evolve to meet the team’s needs for the day

  • Moveable casework displaying exploratory objects that encourage creativity and “out of the box” thinking

5. Bark, Ohio

What it is: A mid-sized corporate office designed to be as dog-friendly as it is people friendly.

What inspires us:

  • Airy and calm color palette composed of durable, cleanable materials for four-legged colleagues

  • Bunk bed lounge areas for people and pets provide space division between work areas

  • Space that fully embodies the company culture and relate back to the design concept even in the smallest details

What inspires us:

  • Natural materials create warm inviting space and complement dark tones of existing office

  • Layered neutrals with dark contrasting accents

What it is: Office space that blends two originally separate buildings.

What inspires us:

  • Super clean, well-detailed space

  • Subtle integration of curved forms juxtaposed with strong linear elements

  • Residential feel

  • Beautifully crafted casework and thoughtfully integrated lighting

  • Intentional use of saturated colors and warm woods
