Designing Together: Client Perspectives
As designers who truly value the relationships we have with our clients, we love hearing about their experience of walking through a project with us. We try to send a survey after a project completes construction and always enjoy the honest reflections, perspectives and constructive feedback. As hearing others’ stories and experiences is often helpful, we are sharing some of the feedback we have received.
They loved the collaboration most of all:
“Working together with Erin and Jamey was the real highlight. They listened to what we were looking for, helped shape the huge range of ideas we had, and brought their expertise to the table to help guide us to a vision for our home.”
The design isn’t about the design team:
“Erin and Jamey were so collaborative, they never seemed offended if we didn’t like something and were always willing to go back to the drawing board if a solution wasn’t quite right for our needs.”
Another client told us the process itself helped them focus on what was fun and exciting:
“Our favorite parts were mixing and matching the options Erin and Jamey presented to us to come up with the perfect solution for our family… and the decor and finishing touches at the end really made the space come to life from Day 1.”
The words clients used to describe their experience? Collaborative. Insightful. Approachable. Creative. Supportive. We’re humbled to hear that because that’s exactly how we want our work to feel.
When the dust settled and the construction wrapped up, the difference in day-to-day life was immediate:
“It’s the same home we lived in before, but now feels elevated and more appropriate for the stage of life we’re in… We now have room for everyone to comfortably gather, yet enough different seating areas for smaller conversations.”
Behind the scenes, the complexity of construction can be surprising. One client noted:
“We were pleasantly surprised with how many things Bound took care of without us even knowing… Kudos to the design and construction team for coordinating so much behind the scenes.”
And for those thinking about starting a project? The advice is clear:
“Be very thoughtful in your selection of scope. We spent months fine-tuning what scope we wanted to include and ultimately were so happy with every choice we made, but it took a lot of weighing the costs, benefits, urgency, cost efficiencies, and construction logistics of each option. Also - trust your gut, but also trust Bound! …We were so happy we ultimately went with their recommendations.”
At the end of the day, it’s all about creating spaces that feel like they were always meant to be—and we’re so grateful to do that work alongside such thoughtful clients.
